RIVERSIDE MEDICAL PRACTICE A VIBRANT TOWN CENTRE TRAINING PRACTICE Following retirement of a GP we are looking for a 6 session, Salaried GP to join our friendly, experienced team. We’d love you to come and visit and meet us. · Salary from £10,000 per session · Flexible working considered. · BMA contract · Amazing purpose-built building in the centre of the Shrewsbury. Sponsoring employer able to recruit any GPs currently on a skilled worker visa. We are an innovative team, keen to try out new ways of working. We have recently adapted how we work to make our jobs as GP’s more sustainable and hopefully more enjoyable. Exciting initiatives currently underway include the recent introduction of AccuRx digital Triage though our in-house duty hub and the outsourcing our daily medicines management work. We are also looking at ways to improve continuity for both patients and GP’s. We try to minimise administrative work through effective workflow and the triage of pathology results. (Typically, 7-10 letters a day and 7-10 results) We have a team of ACP’s who lead the urgent work in the Practice consequently we have very low home visiting levels by GP’s, perhaps one or two a month. Riverside is a large training practice in the centre of Shrewsbury. We have an excellent reputation for teaching medical student from Keele and providing supportive training posts for foundation doctors and Shropshire VTS specialist trainees. We encourage our salaried GPs to immerse themselves in the culture of the Practice and get actively involved in teaching and mentoring. An interest in education and training is desirable and we would be keen to support the development of this in the successful applicant. We are experienced in supporting GP’s who are new to Practice, providing a supportive learning environment. We also are keen to help those who wish to develop their special interests. For example, two of our current salaried GP’s run the homeless outreach clinic at The Ark. Others have been mentored through IUT and SDI contraceptive training. We are increasingly focussed on staff well-being and provide a working environment conducive to the this and have a longstanding reputation for legendary Christmas parties. (Dampened somewhat by a recent pandemic- but raring to go!) Practice Contact: Sue Griffiths, Practice Manager – sgriffiths@nhs.net(mailto:sgriffiths@nhs.net)
